21 Week Doctor's Appointment & Anatomy Scan Ultrasound..or lack thereof lol

Well, today we had our appointment for an anatomy scan ultrasound to make sure all of baby's measurements and whatnot are normal..andddd we have to come back to re-do it. Little Miss Ryleigh was being uncooperative and wouldn't move from the position she was in! (Head in my pelvis, her face facing my spine.) the ultrasound tech said she couldn't get half of the measurements she needed because baby wouldn't move from that position lol I can't believe it! Second time this has happened lol I guess she just knows what position she likes to be in! On any note, she was able to confirm that it is, in fact, a girl! (Even though baby had her ankles crossed the whole time!) Crossing my fingers that they get what they need when we go back in two weeks!

Our appointment with the midwife was pretty typical..heard baby's sweet heartbeat, which was perfect :) She said my tummy was growing at the perfect rate. (thank you very much woman at Waffle House who said I was huge..why do people even say anything at all??? I just don't understand..) Ryleigh weighs approximately 14 oz :)

Guess that's all for now! Here's the pictures we got from today's ultrasound..not too much detail in them!

21.5 Weeks-Is Baby Hanson a boy or a girl?! ;)

I really wish I would have written a blog the night we found out Baby Hanson's gender, but life has been *crazy!*

Well, here's the story anyways! We debated on whether or not to have a gender reveal party for everyone (including ourselves), go to the doc and find out then reveal it to our families, or to invite our families and find out all together. Wellllll, we thought about it and decided that we really wanted to share that special moment with each of our families. So, we invited my mom, sisters, Ry's parents, his sister, and our nephews/niece, along with my friend, Kayla. We went on December 10th to Baby's First Images in Lawrenceville and we absolutely *loved* their office/staff! In the waiting room we took votes on what everyone thought Baby Hanson was. Everyone but me, my mom, and sister in law thought it was a girl! (I was CONVINCED that "Mama knows best" and that my guess of a boy was right on.) When we went back, there were rows of chairs for our family and a special "Dad seat" for Ry right beside me. The ultrasound tech went right to trying to find out what baby's gender was, but s(he) was *not* making it easy at first! Everyone was videoing, taking pictures, and still guessing what they thought the gender was. I finally told the UT that I just KNEW it was a boy...her reply? "Nope! I don't think this is a boy! It's a GIRL!" I immediately started crying tears of happiness and our family started cheering. It was the sweetest moment of my life!

Afterwards, our baby girl, Ryleigh Jordyn, was being super stubborn and kept putting her hands over her face and hiding from us. (Which lasted the rest of the session!) So, they invited us back for a small fee for a "re-do" since we didn't get many pictures of her. We went to dinner at California Dreaming after the session to celebrate finding out the gender. Overall it was a GREAT night!

(Btw, a little background on her name...RYan and ansLEIGH=Ryleigh ;) Her middle name is after my brother. who passed away. Jordan. We decided to change the "a" to a "y" to make it more feminine. I can't think of a more perfect name for her! :) hehe)

When we went back for our re-do, just Ry and I went. I knew that spicy food gets her moving, (which I crave, regardless of the crazy heartburn it gives me!) so we stopped at Chick Fil A before the session to get a spicy chicken sandwich. Whadda-ya-know? It worked!! She was all over the place this time! We got tons of pictures of her face..we could even see her eyes open and close! Girl LOVES her feet and kept putting them in her mouth! She likes to be balled up, feet over head and knees in chest! (We'r e thinkin' that she'll enjoy being cuddled up!) She has long legs like her mommy and her nose looks JUST like her daddy's! I can't express how amazing it feels to see this perfect little miracle that we created on that screen. She's just perfect!

Introducing Ryleigh Jordyn Hanson!

I have an appointment tomorrow and it includes an ultrasound. (Had we not gone to Baby's First Images, we would just now be finding out that Ryleigh is a girl! I couldn't imagine waiting 3 more weeks longer than we had!) They will do some measurements and just make sure everything is going okay, so I'm excited to see our little princess again! I'll definitely try to write more tomorrow after the appointment!

Other than that, life has been FULL speed ahead! Ry and I are looking at buying our first home, (YAY!) which we are so thrilled about! I've been at my new store with Cracker Barrel, in Suwanee, for about 3 weeks now and I'm really loving it. Being a restaurant manager is extremely stressful and a LOT of physical activity, but it's definitely keeping me in shape for my pregnancy! haha. Anyways, I really do love it and I'm really getting attached to my staff lol
Ry goes back to school in a few weeks..so proud of him! He is looking at getting a degree in psychology. With his deployments and whatnot, it's been hard for him to be able to just go straight through school like I did. Anyways, like I said, so proud of him for following through with it!

Okay, more tomorrow! Here's my little questions for now: ;)

How far along: 21 weeks!

Total weight gain: As of my last appointment, I was still down 1 lb, but I'm positive that's changed since my bump is really starting to show now! (Strangers even recognize that I'm expecting!)

Maternity clothes: Pants for sure! I don't really find too many maternity tops that I think are cute, so I just wear regular ones, sometimes just a little bigger. For the most part I'm still wearing all of my old tops for now.

Stretch marks: One TINY one on my side. I was devastated. Cried my eyes out! lol I still rub my cocoa butter on my tummy everyday because I don't want 'em!

Sleep: Well, I still wake up with a backache every morning, but the memory foam pillow hubs got me for Christmas is *AMAZING!*

Best moment of this week: Christmas!! Ryleigh Jordyn got so spoiled! hehe

Miss anything: My sisters had wine on Christmas Eve, would have enjoyed having a glass, but no biggie!

Movement: LOTS! Baby girl has been super active lately!

Food Cravings: Spicy food! (Had Zaxby's chicken fingers rolled in hot sauce for dinner! Mmmm...)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Today I could smell turnip greens at work and it was gaggggg.

Have you started to show yet: Yep! The bump is totally there!

Gender: GIRL!!

Labor signs: Nothin'..thank God! Way too early for any of that!

Belly button in or out: Totally in.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy I would say! I enjoy being pregnant!

Looking forward to: Seeing our daughter tomorrow on ultrasound! :)

Oh! Here's the bump today :)

17 Weeks & 3 Days - Appointment Today!

I can't believe I'm already 17 weeks! Well on my way to halfway there ;)

Found these questions on a blog and I remember my friend, Kelly, filling out something similar when she was pregnant. Such a cute way to document changes, so here we go!

How far along: 17 weeks!

Total weight gain: As of my last appointment, I had lost weight. But, I have an appointment today, so we shall see!

Maternity clothes: Pants for sure! My belly is the only thing growing! Not really shirts yet, I just wear my regular ones for now, although some ride up and are too short!

Stretch marks: I'm terrified of stretch marks. I rub cocoa butter all over myself constantly! I know it'll happen, but I've been lucky so far. (Knock on wood!)

Sleep: Ha! Not so great anymore! Husband says I talk all night, toss and turn, and say my back hurts. I've also been experiencing those crazy, off the wall dreams, too! (Dreamed I had two pet tigers the other night!)

Best moment of this week: Booking our 3D ultrasound to find out if Baby Hanson is a boy or a girl! :)

Miss anything: Not being tired all the time.

Movement: A little here and there. Mostly when I eat something spicy! (Followed by heartburn lol)

Food Cravings: I was craving a milkshake the other day..bad. Got it and I was one happy girl :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Bad smells...gag.

Have you started to show yet: Definitely showing more and more every day!

Gender: We find out on the 10th!

Labor signs: Nothin'..thank God! Way too early for any of that!

Belly button in or out: Totally in.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Depends! Haha. Mood swings like crazy! (Sorry, Ry!)

Looking forward to: My doctor's appointment today and finding out what Baby Hanson is on the 10th!

Here's a little pic of the belly status this week ;)

P.S. I worked all day prior to taking this pic, so I don't look my best! Haha

Well, I better get movin'! Meeting Mom for lunch at Zaxby's (yummmmmy!) before I get a little shopping done. Then doctor's appointment after! Whoo hoo!

14 Weeks & 1 Day

Helllllllllo, second trimester! I was never *super* nauseous, so the fact that that's supposed to slow down this trimester isn't too big of a deal for me. (But, absolutely no complaints in that category!) I've been getting MEGA headaches though and that's no fun. I've tried Tylenol (like the only medicine I can take while pregnant!) and lying down, but neither really help. I guess I'll just have to ride it out!

Soooo, big news! I switched doctors and went to my first appointment last week at the new one. I absolutely LOVE my new docs! I see 6 midwives throughout my pregnancy and any one of them could deliver the baby. They are the sweetest and totally care about me/my baby/my pregnancy. Huge difference from my old doc who couldn't even get my name right in their system!

At my appointment, the midwife used the Doppler to look for a heartbeat, but couldn't find one. I was super worried, but she said it was normal for 13 weeks. But, she wanted me to have an ultrasound (yay!) for measurements and whatnot. While they were getting ready for that, I drank this crazy sugary drink to test for gestational diabetes and then we headed to the ultrasound room. Our little baby was moving around like crazy! Legs and arms were going and it had a strong heartbeat :) The ultrasound tech took some measurements of different parts of the baby and gave us pics of our little peanut :) Here's a shot of the screen...

How awesome is that? You can totally see the profile and everything! So cool! My next appointment is at the end of the month, so I'm extremely excited for that!

9 Weeks, 4 Days

It's been about 3 1/2 weeks since I've blogged! I've been super busy with life! Good news, I got accepted into the intern management program at Cracker Barrel!! I'm SO excited! I leave on Sunday for Tennessee for two weeks to start my training. (It will be a total of 8 weeks.) I can't wait! Been waiting a year and a half for my "big girl job!" We aren't sure where they will be putting us yet, but I will know the last time I'm in TN (approx. 5 weeks from now). Once we know that, Ryan will start applying for police officer/GSP jobs...so proud of him!!

Everything is going great with the pregnancy! I'm having a little bit of tailbone pain (so weird!) and heartburn, too. (Never experienced that before, so I was a little freaked out the first time I had it..my mom laughed and assured me it was totally normal-HA!) As for the tailbone pain, my MIL is thinkin' it's a boy because she had that when she was pregnant with Ry, but not his sister. Who knows! I had my first OB appointment at 8 weeks..pretty uneventful. I was kind of sad about it! We didn't do an ultrasound or even hear the heartbeat. Doc said they only do 2 (at the most) ultrasounds now. Hate that! All we did was ask questions and give blood. I'll have my next one on the 30th, where we will hear the heartbeat for the first time, so I'm *super* excited about that!

Ryan's birthday was yesterday. We spend the weekend camping in Cherokee..so much fun! We used my mom's Hawaiian themed camper and played around at the casino. Then we went to Funopolis in Commerce on Sunday where we celebrated with my family. So much fun!! Haunted house, mini golf, haunted laser tag, etc. We had a blast. Last night we had a family dinner with his family, so that was great times too!

All in all, things have been goin' pretty smoothly! Prayers this way would be great as a lot of changes are comin' our way pretty quickly!

6 weeks!

Well, today marks 6 weeks of my pregnancy! I could not get comfortable last night and woke up like 10x. It was awful. Around the time I found out that I was pregnant, I slept like a ROCK!

I'm still a little nauseated, but haven't gotten "sick" yet. Oh, and I'm SUPER tired all the time!! I napped on my break at work last week!

I know this sounds like a lot of complaining, but I really don't mean for it to. Those are just the symptoms I'm having right now. But, a couple of people have told me that the first trimester is the worst and then it's smooth sailing from there..put me on that boat because I'm ready for it! But, as for now, I really am okay with all of these symptoms because it means my little peanut is still in there. I think most women fear something will happen, especially this early when you can't really feel your baby moving.

Anyways, my first OB appointment is in 2 weeks so I am SUPER excited and really looking forward to that!

5 Weeks and 2 Days..Hello headaches!

Today marks 5 weeks and 2 days for my pregnancy and my head feels like it's about to explode! I am slightly nauseous, too. I tried to not take any medicine but it just kept getting worse. (Still not showing any signs of letting up either!) I haven't gotten sick yet, but the nausea is definitely there. So ready to be past the 1st trimester so that I can enjoy this! I'm truly trying to enjoy my whole pregnancy, but this part just plain 'ole sucks!

On a brighter note, Ares senses that something is different with me and he's VERY protective. He follows me around and *will not* leave my side. It's pretty sweet :)

Well, Rylee is gone for 3 weeks for training, so I'm pretty bummed about that. But, as soon as he comes back we go to our first OB appointment! Whoo hoo! I'm so ready!

A LOT of info in a little blog!

It's been awhile!! Well, we have a TON of news!! First...we got married! Whoo hoo!! Here's a little picture from the big day ;)

I can't even express how HAPPY we are. Being married is the best feeling in the world! I can't wait to grow old with my husband and watch our family grow. Oh, yeah! Wondering about Ares? He was totally in the wedding and did *so* good! He was super happy to see his mommy and daddy get married hehe

The big day actually happened a whole 4 1/2 MONTHS AGO, but it feels like yesterday! Time sure does fly when you're having fun...

& fun we've had!! A month after our wedding we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Ever heard of that place called paradise? THAT is Hawaii! ;) Seriously the MOST beautiful place on the face of the earth. We went to the beach every single day, swam with dolphins (including the one from 50 First Dates!!), went to the Polynesian Culture Center, walked *everywhere,* rented a hot, red Camero convertible, snorkeled at Hanauma Bay (GORGEOUS), visited the Pearl Harbor memorial, went to a luau, got massages, went on a "booz cruise," and tons of other fun things! We wanted to go scuba diving, but couldn't because the weather got bad and then we had to fly out a couple days later. (Apparently you can't scuba dive 24 hours before getting on a plane.)
Here are a couple of pictures that I took from the big vacation!!

I saved the best news for last...

Yep! You're seeing TWO lines on EVERY test and we are expecting a baby next May!! I'm pretty early, approx. 5 weeks tomorrow, but we were just so excited and announced it. (After telling our families and going to the doctor the confirm, of course!) We ask that you all pray for me, baby, and Ry for a smooth pregnancy.

Ry is SO excited! He talks to and kisses my belly, which I think is the sweetest thing in the world :) I know he'll be an amazing daddy :)

I didn't realize you had so many symptoms so early! At first I thought it was all in my head, but I've done some research and it's totally common to experience the symptoms that I am this early. I sleep like a ROCK! (Solid as rock, if you will hehe). I can smell things from a mile away and I have mild cramping (doc says it's totally normal). I am *extremely* fatigued all. the. time. I feel like I never get enough sleep. The most recent symptom is back pain. I feel like someone comes in my room every single night when I'm asleep and kicks me in the back! I wish that crazy guy would go away...hehe. I know it'll all be worth it for my little "peanut" as my mom calls her/him ;) We all can't wait to meet you, Baby Hanson!!

Our first appointment is on September 30th. I'll be about 8+ weeks. Ryan goes to annual training for the Army for the next few weeks, so I'm super happy that we were able to schedule the appointment to where he could go with me.

Well, a LOT of info in a little blog!! Sorry to cut it short, but my break is about over so I have to get back to work. Later!!
